REGION HIGHLIGHTS

The Winter Wiener
The Winter Wiener in Walden is a hot dog stand on VAST Trail 152 between CA 110 and CA 139. It offers a variety of hot dogs and snacks. It is a popular stop for riders, providing a satisfying meal and a spot to warm up by the fire.

Lamoille Valley Rail Trail
The Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (LVRT) is a 93-mile, multi-use recreational trail stretching across northern Vermont along the former St. Johnsbury & Lamoille County Railroad. As the longest rail trail in New England, it runs from St. Johnsbury to Swanton, passing through scenic towns, forests, farmland, and river valleys. In winter, the LVRT is a popular snowmobiling route, connecting to Vermont’s extensive VAST (Vermont Association of Snow Travelers) trail system.

Coles Pond
The Top of the Mountain Farm Stand is in Walden, off Coles Pond Road. You can stop by for a bowl of hot soup and/or a sandwich before making your way up Standard Mountain Lookout from Trail CA 69.
(There may be limited food availability, so a moderate wait may be possible at the farm stand.)
MAPS
Some snowmobile clubs produce maps for their specific region. The Vermont Association of Snow Travelers has a great digital map of the entire Vermont region. For more information, visit www.vtvast.org.
